Pentagram recently posted a new poster for the Yale School of Architecture. The poster, titled Structure of Light, is accompanied by a sketch of the original concept (shown above). I love to see the thinking behind these projects.
A few nights ago, I stupidly argued that Pentagram was particularly good at logotypes but didn’t have as many great marks as some firms, like Chermayeff & Geismar Associates. To prove me wrong, Pentagram collected, designed, and published a book of their best marks within a matter of days. They even created this grid of marks to really drive home their point. It seems extreme, but when they want to prove someone wrong, there are no limits at Pentagram.
